Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO Xiamen) is a joint venture between six companies from China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, Japan and the United States to establish a large civil aircraft maintenance business in Xiamen, China. It provides aircraft maintenance services to aircraft operators or owners around the world and engages in related business operations, including aircraft modification, component assembly and parts manufacturing. The company has six double wide-body hangars, of which Hangars 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 can accommodate two wide-body aircraft and one narrow-body aircraft for overhaul, while Hangar 4 can accommodate one A380 and one B747 aircraft for overhaul. The company's sixth hangar has been completed and will be operational in mid-2011, which will allow HAECO Xiamen to accommodate 17 aircraft for maintenance at the same time.

With the continuous development of Taikoo Aircraft and the growing scale of parts manufacturing, the current customized ERP system for the maintenance industry can no longer meet the business development needs of manufacturing plants, especially in the production process, capacity assessment, production scheduling, shop floor data collection, lean production management and other aspects can not meet the requirements of modern enterprise development, the urgent need for a set of out-of-the-box applicable to a standard ERP system for the discrete manufacturing industry was urgently needed out-of-the-box. After extensive screening by the project team and combining with the characteristics of the enterprise, Microsoft Dynamics AX was finally selected as its core manufacturing ERP system platform. The project team considered the following aspects and finally affirmed the technical advantages of Microsoft.

* Microsoft focuses on intelligent manufacturing, the project target of this parts manufacturing business is also mainly manufacturing, MES, domestic ERP friendly vendors do not have a reliable solution.

* This project has a lot of integration with existing systems, which requires customization, Microsoft provides open source code, other friendly vendors can not be fully open source.

* Microsoft uses VS, .net development platform, which is consistent with the existing IT technology line of Taikoo Aircraft, and IT can quickly get started.

* Dynamics AX adopts SQL database, which is also the most familiar to Taikoo Aircraft, so no additional technical resources are needed and existing IT assets can be fully utilized.

* IWS consultants have a good background in the machining industry and have many successful customer cases, such as: Xiamen Tungsten, Tongfang Nuctech, Guangri Electric, etc., and can provide the best manufacturing solutions.

* IWS is based in Xiamen and can provide good localization services.

The project was launched on June 6th, 2016. During the project kick-off meeting, Mr. Li Dequan, COO of Taikoo Aircraft, and Mr. Wang Lenggan, General Manager of the Manufacturing Division, delivered speeches with clear instructions to use Microsoft and to reshape Taikoo Aircraft's existing business processes by citing Microsoft ERP best business practices whenever possible.
